What is reparation?
The Judge can order an offender to pay someone money if they have suffered emotional harm or had property lost as a result of a crime. This is known as reparation.
The amount of reparation ordered is the Judge's decision and considers how much damage, loss or cost the person has incurred and the offender’s ability to pay.
